Spike Island

Bring your little goblins and witches and hop on board the fun ferry, before embarking on a fang-tastic adventure through the mysterious Spike Island, where you will find areas of the ancient fortress and prison transformed into a realm of Halloween spookiness! Along with their families, the little ones can trick or treat their way around the fortress with our brand new Halloween themed quiz trail – keep an eye out for our friendly tour guides who will be handing out sweet treats along the way!

Once your trick or treating is complete, you can relax at our cafe and gift shop. And that’s not all, our historic island offers an array of museums and child-friendly exhibitions as well as scenic island walks.

Halloween Activities at Fota Wildlife Park 2025

This Halloween mid-term, Fota Wildlife Park has lots of spooky fun and wild adventures in store for all the family!

Lemur Trail

From Saturday, 25th October to 2nd November, visit the Palm Walk / Madagascar area and embark on the Lemur Trail.

  • Explore and learn more about the fascinating lemur species at Fota Wildlife Park,
  • Scan QR codes along the trail,
  • Test your knowledge: take part in the Lemur Quiz in the Gift Shop after completing the trail—answer correctly and you could win Family Day Tickets to the park, the perfect prize for your next wildlife adventure!

Face Painting Fun

Get into the Halloween spirit with our talented face painters! Kids can be transformed into spooky creatures or their favourite animals.

  • Venue: The Marquee
  • Dates: Saturday 25th, Sunday 26th, Monday 27th October (Bank Holiday Weekend) and Friday 31st October (Halloween)
  • Times: 12 noon – 2.45 pm
  • Suitable for three years and older

Spooky Ranger Talks – Friday 31st Halloween Only!

On Thursday, 31st October, join a Ranger from our animal care team for special Halloween Ranger Talks in the Tropical House. Learn about some of the more mysterious species that live there – including snakes and reptiles!

  • Times: 12.30 pm & 2.00 pm

Daily Feeding Times – until the 2nd November

Don’t miss the chance to see some of our endangered species during feeding time!
