THE TITANIC EXPERIENCE COBH
….. The story of a legend and her connection to Cobh
The Titanic Experience, Cobh is located, just a two minute walk from the Commodore Hotel, in the original White Star Line Ticket Office, the departure point for the final 123 passengers who boarded the Titanic.
The visitor experience is presented in two parts.
The first is a 30 minute immersive guided tour retracing the steps of the 123 passengers who boarded Titanic from Queenstown on April 11th 1912. Experience their anticipation of the long journey ahead and their new life waiting in America with a virtual guide usin innovative audio visual technology and replica set designs, ‘passengers’ will experience what life would have been like on board for those 123 Queenstown Passengers. Passengers will share the excitement of boarding the most luxurious liner of her time and feel the horror of the tragedy on that fateful night on the 15th April 1912.
The second part of the Titanic Experience recounts little known facts of the tragedy through the eyes of the Queenstown Passengers and includes hologram style projections and audio recordings detailing passengers personal stories and accounts. This part of the experience examines how it went wrong using computer generated graphics to recreate the collision and subsequent sinking, film analysis of the Titanic on the seabed and expert interviews these interactive exhibits allow visitors to find out how and why the Titanic sank on that fateful night. Touchscreen Computers allow you to look at thepersonalities on board the ship and in particular to discover the fate of the 123 Queenstown passengers.
Titanic Experience Cobh is open 7 days per week from 9:00am to 6:00pm and our last tour is at 5:15pm in the Summer months and 7 days per week from 10:00 to 5:30pm with our last tour at 4:45pm in the Winter months. We accept group and individual pre bookings and our tour is available in French, Spanish, Italian & German.
